Interview With All Thought Out

This Is Pop Punk Promotions with an interview featuring All Thought Out.
Check them out here for killer tunes! https://www.facebook.com/AllThoughtOutOfficial/info

TIPPP- How long has All Thought Out been a band?

ATO- Mikeey and Safton started the band in 2008 :)
We've got Alex on guitar and lead vocals, Mikeey on guitar, Safton on bass and backing vocals and Ben on drums.

TIPPP- Where are you guys from and how is your local scene?
ATO- We're from the West Midlands in England. The local scene is pretty cool but as a whole it's been and being dominated by indie bands and metal bands. We're on a mission to change that.

TIPPP- What have you guys been up to in the last few months? (Touring, shows, recording etc.)

ATO- We've been pretty much holed up in hiding since May working on writing our new EP, getting every track sounding as big as possible. Now we're getting in the studio to record it, with a handful of shows to test our new material out.

TIPPP- Do you guys have any upcoming plans in the next few months? (Touring, shows, recording etc)

ATO- The next few months are gonna consist of recording the EP, doing a couple of shows, one of which is supporting a pop punk band from Los Angeles called Orange on their UK tour, and to just promote the shit out of our new EP, build up a massive hype for it and get as many people to hear us as possible. We're releasing a new single in February called "Often I'm A Mess" off of our new EP. After that we're looking at touring the UK and possibly Europe.

TIPPP- What was the most fun show you've ever played?
ATO- We try to make every show we play the most fun, both for us and the guys who pay to come and see us :)

TIPPP- The worst?

ATO- I don't think we've ever really done a show where we've thought "That was the worst gig we've ever done". We try to avoid playing those shows in the first place!

TIPPP- What has been your greatest memory while either on the road or at a show?

ATO- There was a time we got Safton completely butt naked halfway through our set and while in the process of getting naked his whole package popped out from behind his bass! Easily the funniest show of our lives, I can still see the cringing faces of those in the front row!

TIPPP- What's your favorite things to do besides playing music?
ATO- That differs with each member.
Ben's married and Alex is engaged, so that obviously has it's own element to it. However, being in a band is a great excuse to have a party!
Pre-show, post-show, during-show, it's all fair game!
On down time we usually socialize with friends and family as much as we can. The little things are always the best with big tour plans and other things on the horizon so we feel now is the time to get the hours in with the people we care about.
We also spend countless hours educating Safton on the marvels of current technology. The dude is still representing a Nokia 3310!
Currently, Alex is studying for a degree in English Literature and Ben is studying for a degree in History, so that's completely the opposition direction of playing music.
As a whole, though, if we're not playing music, we're either writing music or listening to music. Although, Alex and Ben are NFL fans, one being a Baltimore Ravens fan and the other being a New York Giants fan, but Ben is a huge, and I mean HUGE, sports fan. Liverpool Football Club, New York Knicks, the Giants and the Boston Red Sox, and that's just a few! He just can't get enough! But as a band, we all try and appreciate similar things, so when we get chance to step away from the music side for a few hours, we can all have fun with the same things without anyone feeling left out or having to do their own thing.

TIPPP- What kind of music does All Thought Out play?

ATO- We're pop punk with an edge. We try to write music that appeals to fans of straight up pop punk/ punk rock like Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, Yellowcard etc but equally appeals to fans of the more alternative pop punk bands like The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Man Overboard etc. We don't wanna be known as another Blink 182 copy. We wanna set ourselves apart and create a somewhat unique side to pop punk.

TIPPP- What sets your band aside from all the others and makes you unique?
ATO- We'd like to consider our stage show to be the ultimate definition of us in a day and age where music isn't the primary factor with bands. We feel that when we hit that stage we like to set the bar high and really tear the house down. We like to think we're not just one of those bands that churn out a great song but when they hit the stage they're boring as hell.

TIPPP- How has your past release gone for your latest single?
ATO- Our last single was a track called 'Might You Hate It' and we had the awesome opportunity to work on it with Roger Lima from Less Than Jake, who also features vocally on the track, and it's given us great opportunities with mainstream radio in the UK and has a great buzz behind it.
We feel it was the foot in the door for us and has created some great opportunities for us.

TIPPP- What bands are you currently inspired by?
ATO- At the minute we are such an eclectic group. We're not particularly tied down to a specific genre. I mean, The Wonder Years and New Found Glory are the big names that come to mind first but then we have bands like The 1975 and Deaf Havana sneaking their influence in for the chill out element, but on the other end of the spectrum you can hear a heavier element to some of the songs where, especially the drums, have taken influence from the likes of A Day To Remember and Four Year Strong. We never like to put a tag on who we are and the bands we listen to, instead preferring to push the boundaries and let our music grow organically.

TIPPP- Is there anything else you would like to say or mention?
ATO- Were still fairly new kids on the block in comparison to most, but we feel we bring something new to the genre and hope you guys take the time to check us out!
